Council considers Ruskin Drive sports complex masterplan

A PROPOSED masterplan for the Ruskin Drive sports ground was considered at last night’s Cabinet meeting.

The vision is to create a vastly-upgraded sports complex at the ageing site, where playing fields are managed by the local authority.

However, it is thought that securing funding from public sports bodies – and compensation from developers who want to build homes on the former City Road fields – would be vital.

The item was on the private agenda, meaning the press and public could not attend.

I bet it was on the private agenda, after closing a pool to save money, lets spend money on a different sports facility.
