Suspended prison term for knife man

A MAN who had a kitchen knife in public has been given a suspended jail sentence.

Lee Anthony Gibson-Chalmers, aged 26, of Toftwood Gardens, Rainhill, had the knife on Mill Lane, Rainhill, on November 17, St Helens Magistrates’ Court was told.

He pleaded guilty, and was given a six-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years.

Gibson-Chalmers was also given a four-week curfew and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work over the next year.
