Kindness boxed up for the needy

CHILDREN’S charity KIND helped make Christmas dreams come true for hundreds of families across St Helens this year.

The charity handed out over two hundred food hampers, containing necessities and treats to make the holiday extra special for struggling families.

As well as handing out food hampers, KIND made toy packages to distribute to families with children.

Over a hundred families across St Helens received the toy hampers, delighting youngsters who would normally have gone without.

One mother who was helped by the charity, said: “I received a food hamper from KIND and it made such a difference to my family.

“A few days later I also received a toy hamper which I wasn’t expecting and when I opened the door it actually brought me to tears because it brought such relief to me knowing that my kids are going to be OK for Christmas.”

KIND founder, Stephen Kip added: “This mother’s comments exemplify the feelings of all the families we helped this Christmas.

"We understand there is still a lot of work to be done, however, to know that more families have had a special Christmas is amazing.

“This has been one of the hardest years that we have faced.

“But thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many individuals, companies, groups, churches and schools we have been able to help make Christmas a great deal happier for thousands of children and families from across our community.

“Quite simply without this support our families would have faced a very bleak and unhappy time.”
