Offender stole car keys and stereo

AN offender with a string of convictions has been jailed for 28 days after taking a car and stealing a stereo, clothing and car keys.

Andrew Christopher McLean, 36, of no fixed address, changed his plea to guilty at St Helens Magistrates’ Court, to carrying out the offences on August 8.

McLean was jailed after magistrates took into account his list of convictions, that the offence was committed against a “vulnerable victim” and that it was from a private property.

He was also banned from driving for six months.

If ever any one wondered why taking the law in to your own hands was becoming more popular, than the sentence handed out by this judge sends out a good reason why we should.Any wonder our police are demoralised when the results off their efforts can't keep a career criminal of our streets for longer than 28 days.
