A MOTORIST who failed a breath test after being pulled over by police claimed he had not had a drink since the previous night.
The man who registered at twice the legal limit was stopped during an operation by police and council road safety officers.
They say it underlines the dangers of getting behind a wheel the morning after a drinking session.
Another 21 people were stopped for driving offences and handed a fixed penalty notice, although they did not a fail breath tests.
Twelve were warned about their speed.
