Commuters endure rail delays

RAIL commuters were left facing a travel nightmare following signalling problems at Huyton yesterday (Wednesday, November 28).

A spokesperson from Northern Rail said replacement buses were deployed from St Helens Central, Newton-le-Willows and Earlestown after the power failure at around 4.30pm.

It caused delays at peak time, but normal service was resumed by 7.30pm.

The problems were caused by thieves stealing cables again. Strange that the story was not been reported to include this.
