CHRISTMAS will soon be here, and Santa will be making his way around the town as a guest of St Helens Rotary Club.

As well as helping to raise money for local charities, some of the cash will go towards Mary’s Meals, an organisation which feeds 600,000 children in 16 countries every day.

Last year funds went towards helping those who are suffering from Alzheimer’s, the Friends of Spartac Gym Club for the disabled and a local teacher who works for disadvantaged children in the Sudan.

Santa and his sleigh will be at Morrisons, Boundary Road, on Friday and Saturday, followed by: l Costco on the East Lancs, Sunday, December 9.

  • Asda, Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15.
  • Church Square, Friday, December 21 and Saturday, December 22.

Santa will also be paying a visit to hundreds of homes in the following streets from from 6.30pm to 8pm: l Eccleston on Tuesday, December 4.

Calling at Walmesley Road, Osborne Road, Barrowfield Road, Pike House Road, Lester Drive, Cecil Drive, Broadway, Gunning Avenue, Daresbury Road, Crocketts Walk and Clarkes Crescent.

Calling at Coronation Road, Regal Drive, Fairway, Coronation Road, St Georges Avenue, Queens Drive, Sackville Road, Lawrence Road, Rutherford Road and Windle Grove.

  • Rainford on Tuesday, December 18.

Calling at Hesketh Court, Church Road, Rookery Lane, Carter Avenue, Derby Drive, Festival Road, Holly Crescent, Queensway, Derby Drive, Pilkington Street, Whalley Avenue and Leyland Road.
