MOTORISTS are being warned that the westbound (Liverpool-bound) carriageway of the A580 East Lancashire Road will be reduced to one lane at its junction with Haydock Lane from Saturday, November 24 to Tuesday, November 27.
The outside lane of the road will be closed for approximately 800 yards while National Grid Gas Alliance carry out essential repair work.
The lane will be closed from 8am on Saturday, November 24 and reopen at 5pm on Tuesday - unless National Grid request a works extension.
Delays are predicted at peak hours.
Haydock Park Racecourse stages one of its biggest racing days of the year on Saturday when the Betfair Chase is run. A statue of superhorse Kauto Star will also be unveiled on the big day.
