A THIEF who stole eight bottles of champagne worth £256 has been sentenced to a community order.
Alan Smith, 40, of Grovewood Court, Prenton, pinched the bubbly from Sutton Park Drive on Sept 20, St Helens Magistrates’ Court was told.
He must go on a drug rehabilitation programme as part of the court order.
