Full of beans at Knowsley Hall

MACMILLAN has been served up another rich cup of coffee.

Ladies of St Helens Soroptimists have stirred up £3,710 for the cancer support charity at their annual coffee morning in Knowsley Hall, which is being match funded by Barclays Bank to the tune of £3,000.

Sue Black of the Soroptimists told the Star: “Once again the ladies of St Helens and its surrounding area turned up in great numbers for a very enjoyable morning at Knowsley Hall, courtesy of Lord and Lady Derby.

“Lady Derby is patron of Macmillan and is happy to help such a worthwhile and much needed cause.

“More than 300 women called in for a coffee and homemade biscuits. A fantastic grand total of £6,700 was handed over to Macmillan locally to give help where it is needed most.

“Thank you to all who attended and supported our third venture.”
