AN inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a 72-year-old man who was killed by an exploding industrial drum.
Pigeon fancier George Stalker, from Knowsley Village, died on the afternoon of Saturday, May 4 after suffering critical injuries when the drum exploded at a private business yard off Hoghton Road, Sutton.
It is believed he was attempting to open the drum when gas inside caused it to explode.
