BACK by popular demand, Willowbrook Hospice's Moonlight Walk looks set to be a big hit again this summer.

But the local hospice needs your help to make this year's 10km walk even bigger and better than last year's inaugural event.

Willowbrook hope to double last year's figure by having 1,000 ladies walking from 10pm on Saturday, June 7.

And they would love it if you could join them and help make this happen!

Willowbrook fundraiser Diane Humphreys said: "Everyone has their own experiences and stories of Willowbrook Hospice which is what makes the Moonlight Walk so special.

"Although people are there to support the hospice or to remember a loved one, the atmosphere on the evening is one of excitement and happiness.

"Even local residents get involved along the route to cheer the walkers on!"

Willowbrook aim to enhance the quality of life for people living with life-limiting illnesses by providing specialist palliative care to those in need and support to their families and carers.

Willowbrook's ethos is Time for Caring' and this is reflected in everything they do.

But, to provide such an invaluable service costs more than £2m each year - and this is raised through various fundraising initiatives and from the support of local people.

Events such as the Moonlight Walk are not only enjoyable for the community to get involved in but also vital to Willowbrook's success.

  • To find out more or order a Moonlight Walk application pack, call Diane at the Fundraising Office on 01744 453 798, go online at www.willowbrook.org.uk or email: diane@willowbrookhospice.org.uk The deadline for entries is Friday, May 23.

If you're unable to take part in the Moonlight Walk but would like to help out on the evening there are still plenty of opportunities available... even for the men!
