Comedian just might have news for you - about Sale

IF you thought you knew all there is to know about Sale, the latest show from comedian Mark Steel just might surprise you.

The BAFTA nominated performer brings his latest show to the Waterside Arts Centre later this month and he promises to reveal some quirky facts about the town.

Mark, a regular on TV shows like Have I Got News For You, is currently touring the country with his latest piece of work.

“I’ve made hard work for myself because I have to try and write stuff about each place,” he says.

He first introduced the idea on Radio 4 and says talking about the places they visit is a favourite pastime for many stand ups.

“People really like those bits so I thought imagine if I spent ages writing a show and a lot of it was about the town rather than just a couple of minutes. It’s made it hard work but it is fun,” she says.

If you haven’t see Mark live the chances are you’ve seen him on Have I Got News For You, compulsory viewing for fans of sharp and witty satire.

Mark describes the programme’s longevity as “astonishing.”

“When there’s something big in the news I think people do look to it and go oh, I wonder what they’re going to say about that,” he says.
