Stars of Strictly Come Dancing are set to mix things up as they will dance with Team GB Olympic medallists for a BBC Children In Need Strictly Come Dancing 2016 special.

Helen Glover MBE, Hollie Webb, Joe Clarke and Lutalo Muhammad will swap sports gear for glamorous ensembles as they show off their best moves with Strictly professionals Janette Manrara, Karen Clifton, Pasha Kovalev and Neil Jones.

Gold medal-winning rower Helen will be partnered with Pasha, whose run on the current series of Strictly ended when partner Naga Munchetty was eliminated.

She admitted that taking part in the charity special will push her “out of my comfort zone” but that she is happy to tackle this “amazing opportunity” after the Rio Olympics.

British hockey player Hollie scored the gold medal-winning penalty at the Olympic final in Rio.

She will be dancing with Strictly newcomer Neil, who regularly appears on spin-off programme It Takes Two.

A huge Strictly fan herself, she said she is “absolutely overjoyed” to be taking part for the good cause but that she is worried about what she has signed up for.

Slalom canoeist Joe will dance with Janette while taekwondo athlete Lutalo will show off his fighting moves with Karen, who was partnered on the current series with singer Will Young before he quit.

The sporting Strictly special show will air during the live annual Appeal Night for the popular charity and will be hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
