Alesha Dixon and Anthony McPartlin will be seen wiping tears from their eyes during a schoolgirl’s audition on Britain’s Got Talent.

Jasmine Elcock, a 14-year-old student from Essex, also impresses Alesha’s fellow judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Amanda Holden with her emotive rendition of Believe by Cher.

In Saturday’s episode, viewers will see the former Mis-Teeq singer dab her eyes with David’s handkerchief. Perennially wisecracking host Ant is also clearly moved, while partner Dec is similarly wowed.

Speaking before her big moment on the stage, young Jasmine admits to nerves. “I’ve performed in Annie in the West End at about the age of nine or 10, but I really get nervous,” she is heard to say.

“My dad will always tell me to take three deep breaths. They’re very supportive as parents. If I won Britain’s Got Talent, it would be a dream come true.”

The stakes are high as the winner of ITV’s hit variety series will receive a cash prize of £250,000 and a slot on the Royal Variety Performance later this year.

Viewers will have to wait until Saturday’s episode is broadcast to find out if Jasmine secured any Yeses from the judges.

In this instalment, David’s mother Kathleen makes an appearance on the panel as a last-minute replacement for Simon, who was running late.

“I like nice male singers, preferably with their tops off,” she says in the episode.

“Exactly what Simon likes as well!” her son quips in response.

Among the acts hoping to progress through to the next round are Sam, 14, and Hector, 12.

The acrobatic and gymnastics duo from Kent have been performing together for over two years.

Amanda asks if they are related.

“We’re partners, but we’re not brothers,” Hector replies.

“Not partners as in, like, going out. Gymnastics partners,” Sam adds, to the amusement of the audience.

The young pair demonstrate strength and agility, but they have to win over the judging panel.
