Daredevil star Charlie Cox has revealed he can still go around incognito.

The 32-year-old British actor, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Netflix series, said he barely gets recognised when he’s out and about.

“I don’t really have a recognisable face. I very, very rarely get stopped in the street by people,” he said.

“Maybe when the show’s been out for a bit longer, that will change but because I wear a mask and glasses so much, maybe it won’t. Hopefully that is the case.”

Charlie – who has starred in The Theory Of Everything, Stardust and Boardwalk Empire – said he can’t believe his luck at playing an American hero.

“It’s kind of still sinking in a little bit,” he said. “I’ve got friends who’ve played American superheroes and I was around when they got those jobs and heard their stories and adventures.

“It’s quite a fun job to get but I never imagined that I would be involved in that in any way, so it’s just been thrilling. It’s kind of a childhood dream for a lot of people to get to do that so it’s been really cool.”

The show, which also stars Rosario Dawson, Deborah Ann Woll and Vincent D’Onofrio, has already been renewed for a second series, to air in 2016.

“The response has been overwhelming so we’re all thrilled, and my great hope was that we would get to do it again so the fact that they’ve picked it up so quickly is testament to the quality. It’s nice,” he said.

The first series of Daredevil is available exclusively on Netflix now.
