David Beckham has revealed his kids are embarrassed by him.

The 39-year-old father-of-four appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he told the comedian that since retiring from football in 2013 he has become a glorified taxi driver to his children. But revealed his oldest sons didn’t like being seen with him dropping him off at school.

David revealed: “My middle son Romeo, who’s 12, he’s just started, as soon as I take him into school I’ll go to kiss him and he’ll turn his cheek.

“I will then pick him up and give him a bear hug and kiss him in front of his friends.

“Then my eldest, Brooklyn, who’s 16 in March, I take him to school and he says to me ‘Dad, park around the corner’. And then he gets out and he walks to his school.

“He did it to me the other day so I’m driving round and he’s just walking in his school, and I open the window and said ‘Brooklyn I love you’. It obviously didn’t go down very well.

“Victoria did have to remind them the other day that actually ‘You’ve got quite a cool dad,’ but it makes no difference.”

And the sportsman-turned-underwear model revealed daughter Harper, three, is not impressed by his physique.

David revealed: “My little girl turned round to me the other day and I’d just bathed her and I got her out and I was towelling her down and she said, ‘Daddy, I love you so much, but I don’t like you – you’re so chubby!’ I didn’t think I was, but…”

But David – who also has a nine-year-old son Cruz with wife Victoria Beckham – insisted he is relishing retirement and spending time with his kids.

He said: “I’ve become a taxi driver overnight, with the kids. I’m literally an Uber driver now.

“From seven in the morning I have four drop-offs at four different schools. I pick Harper up at 12 then the boys at four.

“Then the boys train in a soccer academy every single night of the week, so I’m busy until 9.30pm. And then I’m at home.

“To be honest it’s great. I’ve been playing football for the last 22 years, not always with the family, I travel a lot, and it’s nice to actually be at home and spend some time with them and be a taxi driver.”
