LIVERPOOL singer-songwriter Ian McNabb will be blasting through a notable back catalogue at The Citadel on Saturday, March 28.
Ian, who originally rose to fame as frontman with 80s group The Icicle Works will be making a welcome return to the Waterloo Street venue after last performing there 15 years ago.
He has enjoyed a colourful musical career, which was recently chronicled in his biography Mersey Beast.
After the break up of the Icicle Works, McNabb undertook a number of solo projects and even toured America with Neil Young’s legendary backing band Crazy Horse.
Expect a set spanning Ian’s career including all the old Icicle Works favourites, like top 15 hit Love is a Wonderful Colour and Whisper to a Scream.
Hopefully this trip to St Helens will be remembered solely for the music – and won’t be as incident packed as the the time he brought down the curtain at the Soap Aid event at Knowsley Road in 1986.
The evening ended with the singer being given a black eye by the doormen after failing to gain access to the post function party at the old Fleece Hotel.
Support on the night comes from local singer songwriter Darryl Ryan.
Tickets are available priced £12 from the Citadel box office on 01744 735436.
