Marley’s music brought to life


THE timeless, classic tunes of reggae legend Bob Marley will be brought to life in St Helens next week in a show not to be missed.

Marley tribute band Legend will be jamming at the Citadel on Saturday, October 4 - and the full range of classic tunes will be covered by the Midlands-based outfit.

Marley was such a seminal figure on the music scene - with his great tunes and powerful lyrics earning worldwide respect and adulation.

That spirit has lived on despite his death from cancer in 1981, so much so that most people seem to have a favourite Marley song - Is this Love, One Love, No Woman, No Cry, Jamming, Exodus, Redemption Song, Buffalo Soldier, Three Little Birds and Could You Be Loved All those top tunes will be recreated by Legend, a dynamic band, led by the charismatic Michael Anton Phillips.

Frontman Michael has a pedigree second to none, and members of the band have worked with such greats as The Mighty Diamonds, Dennis Brown, Rankin Roger from The Beat, Burning Spear, Apache Indian, Johnny 2 Bad, Errol Dunkley, George and Desmond Decker and Musical Youth.

Legend's show covers the very best of Marley’s classics, showcasing a number of his million selling hits in this fantastic two-hour tribute to the acknowledged master of reggae.
