The Citadel welcomes John Power back to one of his favourite North West venues on Saturday, October 11.
This gig is definitely a must see, as this is John’s only regional stop for some time to promote his Stormbreaker album, following on from last year’s critically acclaimed Willow She Weeps.
Stormbreaker nods its head in affection to the likes of Captain Beefheart, Neil Young, Buddy Holly and throw in some Bootsy Collins and some scouse rock ‘n’ roll boogie and you hit the mark!
John made his name in Cast and The La’s - but he has moved on since then.
The band Jay Lewis (The La’s / Cracatilla) plays an elastic band Hofner violin bass, while Steve Pilgrim (The Stands) plays the drums and Drumbo’s hi hat, while John plays Leadbelly guitar.
Tickets are on sale now priced £12 or £10 for concessions. For more information, contact The Citadel Box Office on 01744 735436, or visit www.citadel.org.uk We have two pairs of tickets to give away.
