A feast of comedy in store across St Helens

ST HELENS Comedy Festival kicked off yesterday and runs until September 28 with a programme that promises to be a comic bonanza.

In addition to strong headline acts, such as Phoenix Nights’ stars Paddy McGuinness and Justin Moorhouse there are up-and-coming comedians and local talent who will take to the limelight with the return of popular events such as’Bus Stop, Stand Up’ and ‘Drink up, Stand up’.

‘Bus Stop,Stand Up’ is a mystery bus tour of local pubs with the added bonus of a comic conductor and stand up comedians.

The fun commences at 7pm on Monday September 22 at The Counting House, with the bus departing at 7.30pm.

As the bus motors across the Borough, passengers will be entertained with jokes and comic capers to make a memorable feast of fun.

‘Drink up, Stand up’, is the funniest bar crawl ever with a different stand-up act at each port of call.

The town centre will be full of mirth as the evening unfolds at the Zoo Bar from 7.30pm on the September 24.

The audience will move from venue to venue to be entertained by four local comedians and enjoy a truly fun-filled night.
