Countdown to St Helens music festival


IT’S the final countdown to Eclectica '08 one of the North West’s most exciting free summer music festivals.

Eclectica 08 serves up Shed Seven, the Levellers, Amsterdam and The Maybes? in Victoria Square, St Helens this Saturday.

As well as headliners, Eclectica will also show off some of the top young musical talent from St Helens: The Cubical, Ghengis Grimes, Mama Beani, The Hang Project, Streetwaves St Helens 08 winner - Red Orchestra, local school bands - Silent Thunder and Ariel Chambers who will be sure to put on a performance to remember for their hometown.

Kicking off at noon Chilli Con Carnival – a St Helens based Latin drum band will set the tone for a fun-packed day of musical entertainment and will also feature some of the best young musicians from across Merseyside performing as part of Streetwaves 2008 including The Little Hydes and Beaker Folk of the Bronze Age.

Following the Eclectica Music Festival, The Citadel is hosting an Official Eclectica After Show Party featuring a DJ set from Shed Seven's very own Rick Witter and live performances from El Policia and Our Fold.
