STEVE Knightley and Phil Beer rejoin forces this month for a Show of Hands UK spring tour which sees them make their debut at The Citadel, St Helens on Saturday, April 5.
Gigs had to be cancelled at the last minute on Show of Hands's autumn 2007 tour following news that Steve's young son Jack had been diagnosed with leukaemia.
Multi instrumentalist Phil and double bassist/ vocalist Miranda Sykes picked up the tour - with American guest musician Slaid Cleaves - and raised thousands of pounds for the children's charity CLIC Sargent along the way.
Singer songwriter Steve was able to join the tour for just two gigs - one in his hometown of Exeter and another in Bristol, where six-year-old Jack was being treated at the children's hospital.
Happily, with Jack now responding to treatment, Steve is back on the road again.
Steve said: "Jack has gone through his initial period of treatment with flying colours and although it will be nearly three years until the all clear, all the early signs are encouraging."
The 19-date tour, which continues to showcase their new double album Roots -The Best of Show of Hands, runs from April 2-27.
Steve said: "On this tour we'll be our own support! Phil and I will start the show as a duo featuring backlog numbers, new songs and solo material and then Miranda will join us for a festival set for which we'll get changed, turn up the volume and make full use of the lights."
The gig starts at 8pm and tickets costing £15 are available from the box office on 01744 735436.www.citadel.org.uk
