Another day, and the nation’s broken heart following Selasi’s final round of Bake Off still has some healing to do.

But he has taken it upon himself to reassure everyone that this is not the last we will be seeing him – with an online post promising that the journey is just BEGINNING.

After a dramatic patisserie-themed semi-final episode that saw him present an impressive selection of palmiers, a fruity savarin and a tower of fondant fancies – as well as a cheeky attempt to take over Mel and Sue’s timekeeping job – Selasi just missed out on making it through to the last leg of the race.

Summarising the whole competition as “incredibly overwhelming and humbling” and “a massive learning curve”, he said he was proud to have been a part of the experience.

But, posting the morning after the show was broadcast on BBC One, Selasi admitted that he can “finally cry”… along with the rest of us!

And if that isn’t enough to send you scrabbling for the tissues, how about the heart-warming silly selfie he shared of the final four before the big show?

And it isn’t just the viewers who will miss his impossibly cool-guy style, dry humour and saucy banter with the presenters.

Remaining finalists Andrew, Candice and Jane can’t help but be sad to see him go either…

As well as adding in some hashtags for life that we can all learn from – #liveforyourpassion #dontstressjustbakeandenjoyit – Selasi finished his post by hoping he had “managed to create some sort of baking influence out there”.

You did, Selasi. You did.

Sniff…
