Singer Joss Stone has joined forces with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) to urge people to “Say NO to Exotic Skins”.
In a new poster, Joss is painted as a crocodile, with the slogan: “3 Animals Are Killed to Make 1 Crocodile Bag. Say NO to Exotic Skins.”
The advert follows a Peta expose of farms that supply crocodile and alligator skins to luxury handbag manufacturers, and showed the terrible circumstances the animals live in.
Joss said: “Although I’m not as familiar with crocodiles as I am with dogs and horses, I know that all animals are capable of suffering.
“I hope when people see footage of what happens to crocodiles and alligators killed for their skin to be turned into handbags, they’ll join me in leaving wildlife out of their wardrobes.”
Joss previously teamed up with Peta in support of bears that were being inhumanely killed for their fur.
