IT IS just a year since the Pigeon Detectives released their debut album, Wait For Me, yet the Leeds quintet are back in the charts already.
With the swift release of the second CD, Emergency, the indie rockers seem to be in something of a rush to prove themselves and this has rubbed off on the record.
That is not to say the album is poor. It just lacks variety and has very few stand-out songs beyond the first track and single, This Is An Emergency.
What is refreshing though, is that the band no longer seem to be hanging on the coat tails of their famous friends, the Kaiser Chiefs.
Their style now is something more reminiscent of a very young Green Day.
