OTIS Grand, known as the Gentle Giant of the Blues and his band makes an eagerly anticipated return to The Citadel stage on Saturday 27 October.

Otis's music career spans over 25 years, with five studio albums. He has played a major role in the evolution of the modern blues scene in Britain.

After the decline of the British blues boom of the 60s, Otis arrived on the scene and formed his 10-piece Rhythm and Blues band, firmly established his act and style of blues in Britain, quickly becoming a firm favourite throughout Europe.

His gigs are now legendry, drawing acclaim from purists and from those who come looking for a good night out.

Otis has toured constantly turning in consistently great performances building a big following.

He sets the standards for many others to follow, which ensures that he will stay at the top of the Blues scene for many years to come.

Tickets are priced at £14 and £12 for concessions. Doors open at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile veteran rockers Wishbone Ash will descend on Waterloo Street venue next Thursday, 1 November.

More than 28 years after they were named the Brightest Hope' and the Best New Group' in the influential British music publications Melody Maker and Sounds, Wishbone Ash's following and influence has continued unabated.

As a sign of that, in 2002, founder members Andy Powell and Ted Turner were voted among the top 20 guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine, and the group's albums continue to be strong sellers around the world.

Tickets for this event are priced at £15. Doors open at 7.30pm.
