PERFORMANCES will be held at Rainhill Village Hall to honour the 50th anniversary of the Ford sewing machinists’ strike.
Headlines were made when women at Ford Daghenham went on strike for three weeks from June 7, 1968 over pay grades which favoured men, bringing brought to a halt.
On June 28, a deal was struck and the women returned to work, leading to the concept of the 1970 Equal Pay Act.
Made In Dagenham, based on the hit film, is an uplifting musical comedy about friendship, love and the importance of fighting for what is right.
Show dates are from Thursday, June 14 to Saturday 16 at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
