THE Lord Chamberlain’s Men will be playing for laughs at Knowsley Hall this August.
The troupe is putting on an open air production of Shakespeare’s Comedy Of Errors in the grounds of the famous Prescot stately home.
Following the success of Much Ado About Nothing last year, the company decided to stick with the comedy genre with, arguably, the Bard’s funniest play.
The production will be staged as if in Elizabethan times, in the open air with an all-male cast, and full period costume with traditional music and dance.
The comedy follows two pairs of identical twins, Antipholus of Syracuse and Antipholus of Ephesus, and servants, both named Dromio. People can bring a picnic and low-backed seating or rugs with the show on Thursday, August 10 at 7.30pm. Gates open at 6.30pm.
