HOME-grown comedian Johnny Vegas is set to star this year’s Christmas pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, alongside a host of new and exciting names on a 3D screen.

St Helens Theatre Royal will be playing host to stars such as Lucy-Jo Hudson this festive season, from Saturday, December 2 to Sunday, January 7 on a magical 3-D interactive scene, where the action will jump right off the stage and leave audiences amazed.

Johnny, who has been gracing TV screens for more than 15 years, will be playing the Magic Mirror to reveal who truly is the fairest of them all in the Regal Entertainments production.

He said: “I don’t know about this Snow White being the fairest, I thought I was the fairest of them all? I’ll have to have a word with her and put her in her place.

“I’m coming home St Helens. You’ll get to see my beautiful face every night via the power of projection, great isn’t it, so get your tickets.”

Starring as the fairest beauty of them all, Snow White, will be Wild at Heart and Coronation Street actress Lucy-Jo Hudson.

The handsome hero will be played this year by LIPA graduate Jack Rigby who is sure to break a heart or two as the Prince appearing in the theatre’s 2015 panto, Cinderella.

Other stars include Richard Hazlewood as Herman the Henchman and funny man Lewis Devine as Muddles as well as the theatre’s resident dame Simon Foster as the Wicked Queen.

Completing the all-star cast is the addition of seven dwarfs including mother and son Harry Potter actors Josh and Sarah Bennett, Danny Blackner who appeared in box office hits Star Wars IV - Return of The Jedi, Labyrinth and Muppet Treasure Island, Lucy Blenkiron, Charlotte Lyons and Jay Lusted who appeared in the BBC One Wales documentary Born Small: The Wedding and finally, Peter Sumper.

Theatre manager Chantelle Nolan said: “I am delighted to announce the cast for St Helen’s Theatre Royal’s Christmas Panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

“Johnny Vegas is a hugely popular household name and it is great that he is coming back to his roots and coming home to St Helens – even if he won’t be physically on stage every night, it is fantastic to have him involved.

“Alongside the already announced Lucy-Jo and the rest of the stellar cast, plus the addition of the all new 3D scene, this year is shaping up to be our best Christmas panto to date.”
