A CHILD star from the Voice Kids UK will form part of the entertainment during a summer fayre at the Junction pub this weekend.

Twelve-year-old Jake McKechnie, a contestant for Team will.i.am on the show, will perform with the Rainford Band and the Junction Ukuleles also among the entertainment over the two-day event.

Jake, from Wigan, who secured his place in the next round in last week's show, started performing in public at eight years old and is a regular performer and host at open mic nights at the Junction Pub.

The summer fayre takes place at the Rainford pub on Saturday and Sunday (June 24 and 25) from 12pm to 6pm.

There will also be craft stalls and children’s rides and games, a beer and slush bar, bouncy castles, face painting, donkey riding and more.

On Saturday live entertainment will feature Shaun O'Niel from 1pm with Jake to hit the stage at 3pm.

On Sunday the Junction Ukuleles kick things off at 1pm, followed by the Rainford band at 3pm and Jake will round things off at 5pm.

Entry is free and the fayre will raise proceeds for the Rainford Heritage Society and is the first of a series of events to be held in aid of the cause.
