A CELEBRATION of the works of Bob Dylan will be staged at the Citadel later this month.

Following a sold-out show at Liverpool's Echo Arena in May, John O'Connell formerly of band Groundpig, is bringing Simply Dylan to the Citadel in January as part of a six date nationwide tour.

The show is the Liverpool-based artist's personal exploration and celebration of the rich and diverse work of Bob Dylan.

Described as straightforward as its title suggests, the show has no frills, no gimmicks and no pretence with the precise playing and high energy renditions having generated great interest.

John, who is Simply Dylan's frontman, has collaborated with other musicians to form his Dylan band.

He said: "Simply Dylan endeavours to focus on detail and colour performing some of Dylan's more challenging songs, bringing his lyrical content and story-telling alive."

The Band consists of John on vocals, guitar and harmonica, Paul Catherall on bass, Phil Larkin on Keyboards, Matty Shaw on Drums and Kath Ord on backing vocals, saxophone and violin.

Simply Dylan will play The Citadel on Saturday, January 21. Tickets are available from the box office on 01744 735436. For more information visit: simplydylan.com.
