INDIE rockers Stillia will head to the studios to record their first album after signing a music deal which will enable the group to become full time.

The four-piece band, which has built big reputation both in the town and beyond, have signed a contract with B33 Management.

The band, which consists of lead singer Jack Bennett, lead guitarist Connor Moran, Johnny Waring on bass guitar and drummer Matty Bennett, says it now has a bustling schedule ahead thanks to the deal, including recording their debut album.

"There's a lot to tell about the deal, but we're going to announce them all as they're about to happen," said frontman Jack.

"There's loads of mind-blowing stuff in the diary from the signing and first on the list is we are recording a debut album and getting that done for October.

"We just want to keep the excitement up and announce every detail bit by bit and when we can, because each detail is massive. It's mega and means we can do this full time for two years at least."

Stillia's recent single 'Sometimes' received a great reception which included being played on BBC Introducing Merseyside and various radio stations.

The group is spending a lot of time out of town as well, although they are due to play at Brookfest this August, and believe the music scene in their hometown is in a very strong place.

"The St Helens music scene, it's going to be as big as Liverpool soon," added Jack.

"It has to be. There's so many bands forming, so many people putting gigs on, whether it be festivals, in large rooms or just in small bars.

"Live music is thriving in St Helens now, it is just getting bigger and bigger and more and more people are getting behind bands.

"Bands from the town just need to get behind each other and it will just sky rocket in this small town we live in."

Stillia are among the acts playing at Brookfest at Blacbrook on Saturday, August 6.
