FANS of Wishbone Ash are in for a real treat at the Citadel when Martin Turner films an exclusive live music DVD at the venue.

The Star reported that Martin and his band were to hit the stage on Friday, February 26.

And now, Martin and the band, which features Danny Wilson, Misha Nikolic and drummer Tim Brown, have decided to perform an extended set exclusive to the Citadel audience.

Wishbone Ash was formed by Martin, with fellow West Country musician Steve Upton, in 1969. He envisaged the band’s innovative harmony-guitar hallmark and the partnership of the original line-up of Wishbone Ash forged a unique musical identity that would produce some of rock music's best loved works and sell millions of albums.

Martin continues to perform the band’s best loved works with his current band and since 2005 has delighted audiences worldwide with its performances from the classic periods of Wishbone Ash’s history.

Martin said: “I have had a wonderful time over the past few years re-discovering the wider Wishbone Ash catalogue and taking this to the people.

"My focus so far has been on reproducing the music as faithfully as possible. When I go to see an artist live, I want to hear the songs as I remember them from the records and I believe that is true of the Wishbone audience too.”

Ahead of the exclusive Citadel performance, he added: " “Creatively, I still have much to say.

“My song-writing has always been a backdrop to my real-life experiences and I am looking forward to getting creative as we prepare to take my band into its next chapter.”

Tickets are £15 each. For further information or to book tickets call the Citadel Box Office on 01744 735436 or visit the Citadel website www.citadel.org.uk.
