LAURA McCaffrey won the big event for fillies at Haydock Park by a glamorous head.

A panel of style judges from Liverpool ONE named Laura from Newton-le-Willows as the 2012 Best Dressed Racegoer at Haydock Park Ladies Evening – marking an end to the big style competition which launched in June.

Laura’s sense of style stood out for the judges from the first heat with her clever mix of designer and high street.

She wore shoes by Alexander McQueen, a jacket from Next and a hat from Marks & Spencer.

Visitors to ladies events at the racecourse this season have been eligible to enter the competition to win £1,000 in cash courtesy of Haydock Park Racecourse, a £500 voucher to spend at Liverpool ONE, a night’s stay at Novotel Liverpool ONE and goodies including a new handbag courtesy of fashion show sponsors, House of Fraser.com.

The shortlisted finalists were invited back to the grand finale to discover which lucky fashionista would walk away with a host of fabulous prizes.

Donna Howitt, marketing director at Liverpool ONE, said: “We’ve seen some fantastic outfits at Haydock Park over the past few months.

“It’s clear that racegoers here are passionate about fashion and have a great sense of style. It was a difficult decision on the night, but there can only be one winner, and Laura really stood out from the crowd.”

The Liverpool ONE Style Surgery team were also on hand throughout the night supplying Style Surgery first aid kits to fix any race day fashion mishaps.
