Theatre Royal annual festival taps into young dancing talent
AMAZING dancers – like the youngsters in the picture, right – stepped out in style at the Theatre Royal for the popular venue’s annual dance festival.
Chantelle Nolan, theatre manager, told the Star: “It was a brilliant event with some outstanding performances on the day. It is an event we are trying to grow every year.”
The youngsters who excelled in this year’s show were – highest mark: ballet, Chloe Swift; national, Rachel Ellis and Tanya Sollars; tap, Rachel Hancock; character, Taylor Range; modern, Jade Harrington; Greek, Rachel Hancock and Jenna Thackray; song and dance, Taylor Range; baby section, Skye Wright; duet, Taylor Amos and Elliott Hanna; trio, K Gilbert, T Christianson and M Moore; groups, Nazene Danielle School of Dance.
Adjudicators’ Choice Awards went to – opportunity section, Brooke Lewis; outstanding choreography, Olympic Torch; most promising performer, Taylor Range and most artistic performance, E Kenwright and S Lowrie.
