IT’S been an amazing summer for St Helens band Naymedici, who have been performing at some of the UK’s biggest and best festivals.
Tipped for success by the St Helens Star earlier this year, the Thatto Heath natives have gone from strength to strength.
Having already established themselves in Manchester, they have gone on to play all over the country at top festivals such as Kendal Calling, Friends of Mine Festival and Y-Not Festival.
The band’s guitarist Michael said: “It has been an amazing summer. Playing at Y-Not Festival with Miles Kane and Maximo Park would be a highlight – we were even invited to play a second gig on the Sunday, in front of thousands on the second stage, and received an encore.”
They describe their sound as an interesting mixture of Balkan and Irish music, with hints of ska and a big emphasis on lyrics.
With influences such as Bob Dylan and The Pogues, they say that they play ‘folk music as it should be played – loud’.
The lads have also completed their third headline tour of Ireland and recently finished in the studio preparing their debut EP Graffiti on the Wall.
With the album set to be released in early 2012, the future looks bright for Naymedici.
