CLASSICAL ballet will take centre stage this Mother’s Day when the highly acclaimed Vienna Festival Ballet Company returns to town with a one off performance of Swan Lake.

They will be performing one of the world’s best loved ballets by Tchaikovsky at the St Helens Theatre Royal at 5pm on Sunday, March 11, for all ages.

The company, whose previous performances include The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, aim to make the great classical ballets accessible to theatres nationwide.

The story centres round Prince Siegfried, who while out hunting meets a flock of swans led by a Queen Swan who is under an evil spell.

He falls in love with the Queen of the Swans and tries to free them all. However, a magician has a few tricks up his sleeve.

Tickets for the show are £21 each, £19 for concessions and £15 for children.

Chantelle Nolan, theatre manager said: “We are always delighted to welcome Vienna Festival Ballet to St Helens Theatre Royal.

“Their productions always prove hugely popular with our audiences.

“Swan Lake is one of the most loved and well known of all ballets and I am certain that this will offer families a highly memorable and enjoyable evening.”
