AN aspiring actor is urging people to help his movie dreams come true by donating to a crowdfunding page.

Dad-of-six Keith Hyland, from Eccleston, discovered his love of acting ten years ago and has since starred in the new series of sitcoms Porridge and Peaky Blinders.

He is hoping to add a feature film to his credits after landing a part in Liverpool-based sci-fi movie J1S (pronounced Jones).

The movie is a story of how artificial intelligence can go wrong. Keith is starring as Russian pimp Ivan Popovic, a villain in the movie.

However, director Jay Cunningham needs £35,000 for it to be made.

Former mortgage advisor Keith, who owns Eccleston Plumbings, said: “It’s great to be involved. The character I play is brilliant and it will be the biggest thing I’ve ever done before.

“I’d be starring alongside Mayling Ng whose recently been in Wonder Woman so it would be great for my career to work with a top actress and in a feature film like this – it could be big.

“People who pledge money will get various rewards, from a thank you online, a signed poster, a signed script by the director and cast, tickets to the world premier, a day on set etc – so it could even be a quirky gift.

“I hope the community can support the film and a director who is giving us local actors to star in this movie because if the target isn’t reached the movie won’t be made either.”

To pledge to the crowdfunding page visit crowdfunder.co.uk/j1s-film, where you can also watch the trailer.

The director Jay Cunningham added: “To make this Merseyside based Sci-fi film would be amazing and we can only do this with your help.

“The amazing thing with crowdfunding is you can be part of the process; and choose your prize for pledging.

“The prizes range from signed scripts to being on set and watching a movie being made.

“Help us put the Mersey Sci-fi scene on the global map.”
