THE Clone Roses are to headline a festival at Sherdley Park next summer to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The tribute band will be performing in their hometown for the ‘CloneFest’ event on July 21, 2018.

The Clone Roses have become renowned for their tribute act to that of the Madchester legends.

Despite making waves across the country, the group have always maintained their St Helens ties, playing at the Citadel regularly.

The tribute act features frontman Gav Scott, brother Tony Scott, Mike Bagshaw and Phil Bennett.

CloneFest will also host a number of tribute bands from the Manchester era including Oasish, The Smiths Ltd, Happy Mondaze, True Order, The Courtbetweeners & The Verve Experience.

The Clone Roses have also announced that Manchester DJ Clint Boon will be spinning tunes along with Clones longtime friend and DJ/Host Dave Sweetmore.

The Clones’ made their first appearance at The Phoenix in St Helens in July 1998. Over the past two decades the band has gone on to play more than 600 shows, most noticeably headlining venues such as Manchester Academy 1, Belfast Ulster Hall Warrington Parr Hall.

They have played at festivals such as The Isle of Wight Festival, Shiine On Weekeer and others.

Early bird tickets for CloneFest are priced at £20 but will be limited and VIP tickets are limited to just 200 tickets, priced at £50.

Gates on the day open at 2pm with the festival finishing at 11pm.

Tickets will be on sale on Thursday (November 23) from 9am.
