THE Jacksons will be celebrating 50 years in showbusiness with a Motown performance at Haydock Park on Friday – and the set list has been put together by fans.

The list includes a few Michael Jackson - who made up the Jackson Five - songs.

Tito Jackson told the Star: “We asked them to write in and give us a selection of songs they would like to hear.

“So we made a list from that. Of course all the hits are included and some album cuts as well – some songs that weren’t singles but were popular like Heartbreak Hotel and Lovely One.

“It’ll will be an exciting, high energy show. We want people to have a great time. A party actually.

“We do a few Michael songs and, of course, it will be in memory of him as well.

“We feel his spirit when we’re on stage. It’s hard not to feel that when we’ve done so much together and had so many successes side by side.”

The Jacksons started in the ‘60s when Joe convinced brothers Tito, Jackie and Jermaine to form a singing group.

They took on the name The Jackson 5 after younger brothers Marlon and Michael joined. Success came fast with four consecutive number ones: I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save and I’ll Be There, between 1969 and 70.

The Jacksons sold more than 200 million records during their time with the legendary Motown label. Building a reputation for their combination of music and brilliant choreography, they went on to score 17 Top 40 singles on the Hot 100 – together with 22 UK Top 40 singles – including Never Can Say Goodbye, Show You The Way To Go and Dancing Machine.

Tito said: ‘We had the privilege of performing for Her Majesty The Queen when we first came to the UK in 1972 and we’re always excited to return. The British audiences love their music and we can’t wait to share ours with them when we bring our show to Haydock.”

The concert starts at 8.30pm after the racing action earlier in the day which includes a six-race card - giving fans the chance to enjoy the drama and spectacle of the racing glory.
