POP and soul queen Lisa Stansfield turned the clock back as Haydock Park was lifted by the sounds of some of the singer's greatest hits last Friday night.

Lisa, who shot to fame in the 1980s, had said she was looking forward to making her appearance at Haydock, with the borough close to her heart as home to some of her extended family.

And she was given an appreciative welcome by the crowds as she hit the stage as the sun set following the evening's racing.

The audience was bouncing as classic hits like Change and Never, Never Gonna Give You Up rocked the venue with People Hold On also receiving a popular response.

Mixing in some of her more recent tracks such as Carry On and So be It, the 50-year-old Rochdale singer kept the audiences moving throughout to show she has lost none of that seductive talent which saw her rise to stardom.

All Around The World was the undoubted hit as the crowds sang along with the Makerfield Stand bouncing to the old favourite.

The 90-minute show brought the curtain down on a glorious evening and another bumper summer of live music shows at Haydock Park.
