THE sounds of Wishbone Ash will rock the Citadel later this month as founding member Martin Turner hits the stage with his current band.

Tock group Wishbone Ash was formed by Martin, and fellow West Country musician Steve Upton, in 1969. Martin envisaged the band’s innovative harmony-guitar hallmark and the partnership of the original line-up of Wishbone Ash forged a unique musical identity that would produce some of rock music's best loved works and sell millions of albums.

And Martin continues to perform the band’s best loved works with his current band and since 2005 has delighted audiences worldwide with its performances from the classic periods of Wishbone Ash’s history.

Looking back fondly at his touring activities since his return to the live stage, Martin said: “My focus so far has been on reproducing the music as faithfully as possible.

"When I go to see an artist live, I want to hear the songs as I remember them from the records and I believe that is true of the Wishbone audience too.”

Following an extensive period of worldwide touring, Written in the Stars - Live Dates 2015/16 sees Martin bring a show that not only contains stage favourites from the repertoire, but introduces new music from forthcoming studio album "Written in the Stars".

The show comes to the Citadel on Friday, February 26, with doors open from 7.30pm.

“Creatively, I still have much to say,” added Martin ahead of the performance.

“My song-writing has always been a backdrop to my real-life experiences and I am looking forward to getting creative as we prepare to take my band into its next chapter.”

Tickets are £15 each. For further information or to book tickets call the Citadel Box Office on 01744 735436 or visit the Citadel website www.citadel.org.uk.
