AFTER my few weeks' break it's ST back with the the gig guide 'Live in Glasstown' and there's loads going on this weekend across the borough.

There's a couple of things to look out for this week. with the big busk in Victoria Park which has a great line-up. That runs from12pm to 6.30pm on Saturday. It's great to see "The Jars", who were part of the local indie scene in the 1980's, back out there and they'll no doubt bring back some memories of such venues like The Alfred, The Turks Head and The Lamb to the old indie crowd. It's hard to believe that over 30 years have passed since then! Over in Clock Face, the Clock Face Hotel is presenting its music festival on Saturday.

Again a whole host of local talent will be appearing in the big top tent at the rear of the pub and tickets are available from the clock face hotel and on the day.

The Junction Inn, Rainford continue their themed weekends and this weekend it's the German Bier Festival featuring "The Stilletto sisters, "The Grounded" and "Roulette". This one runs from about 2pm Saturday

until late and carries on throughout Sunday.

Speaking of Sunday, the Tank commander, Ian Whittaker has been at it again. Tank on Westfield street is again pushing the boat out and trying something different. Kicking off at 6pm this Sunday there is an evening featuring three great local musicians, Greg Davies,

Danny Wellens and Vint Wilcock and they will be playing mostly in a jazz style, but with a twist!

I've heard a few whispers of what the twist is but I'm sworn to secrecy so why not pop down and check it out.

Anyway, enough of my yakking, here's this weeks gig guide.
