A SINGER and songwriter will launch the release of his first EP this week.

Local act Evil Piccolo will be performing a special show to help launch the debut EP (The EP ep) at the Tank bar, on Westfield Street this Thursday.

Proving that acoustic guitars are not just for country and blues, Evil Piccolo brings a heavy rock feel to his music, putting everything out there and never holding back to prove it is the artist who defines the instrument and not the other way around.

His performances are characterised by a blend of intimacy and sheer roughness in his style.

Evil Piccolo has received praise for his songwriting and the passion and conviction in his solo performances, with positive reviews around the region.

And he has previously supported such artists as Nick Oliveri (Queens of the Stone Age) and Mark Crozer (Jesus and Mary chain)

The show will feature tracks from the EP and more from Evil Piccolo, including a few choice covers. There is also an exclusive track, which will be available first to those attending the launch night.

The EP launch starts at 8.30pm on Thursday night (August 27).
