ANOTHER weekend is looming with loads of live music out there to keep everyone happy.
A few highlights to look forward in particular includes top tribute band, Bon Jovie, supported by Wigan group Bigfoot. This Friday also sees three very popular open mic nights take place across different parts of the borough.
Out in Rainford at at the Junction Inn, Tony Schofield hosts the ever popular Friday open mic. The night always attracts a good crowd and has seen appearances from Brian Jones, saxaphone player with The Undertakers and original Merseybeat musician and many of our own local musicians.
Down in the town centre, at the Rendezvous Bar local author, poet and musician Shaun O'Neil hosts his monthly 'anything goes' jam night. There is always a mixture of music on offer from an assortment of local musicians some of whom performed in front of an audience for the first time on this night.
Finally, over in Lea Green at the Bull and Dog it's Mr Swap's jam night. Aided by his partner in crime, son and fellow Swifty, Mathew and the multi-talented James Irlam, the Bull and Dog always has a packed crowd. So if you're a musician and would like to play a spot on this night it's advisable that you arrive early to avoid disappointment.
As well as the open mic nights there are many other gigs happening this weekend and here's
