THE countdown is on to the Theatre Royal’s big Easter panto of Sleeping Beauty.

Hot off the heels of the Christmas extravaganza Jack and the Beanstalk and last year’s Easter production Snow White, tickets for the show are sure to be in high demand.

Running over the school holidays Sleeping Beauty will bring a series of magic, glitz, glamour, suspense and humour – all the ingredients that have helped to keep the Theatre Royal’s past seasonal shows so successful.

Laura Gregory will star as the beautiful Princess Aurora cursed to prick her finger and fall into eternal slumber, only to be awoken by her one true love.

She was selected from 90 actresses who auditioned for the role through Radio City.

And the voice of Radio City will also feature on stage with Leanne Campbell will be returning to the stage, getting transformed into the evil fairy Carabosse.

Alongside Leanne is another member of the Radio City 96.7 team, the returning Claire Simmo who is back after winning the audience over as Fairy Vegetable in Jack and the Beanstalk.

Another Theatre Royal favourite, Liam Mellor brings more mischief and madness.

Completing the line-up is St Helens’ resident Dame, Simon Foster, bringing his slapstick fun and chaos to the stage.

Brought to the Theatre Royal by Regal Entertainments, the show will be performed from April 3 to 12 with showings at 1pm. There will be additional 5pm performances between Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6.
