LEGENDARY Liverpool musician Ian McCulloch will be in town for a solo gig at The Citadel this weekend.

The Echo and the Bunnymen frontman, who formed the band back in 1978 with guitarist Will Sergeant and bass player Les Pattinson, makes his return to the venue on Saturday.

Previously, Ian had played with the Crucial Three alongside Julian Cope and Pete Wylie and A Shallow Madness, also with Cope, as well as with drummer Dave Pickett and organist Paul Simpson.

The group broke up in 1988 but reformed in 1997, releasing a new album ‘Evergreen’, which made it into the Top 10 in the UK album charts. More recently, the band released their latest album ‘Meteorites’ in June, 2014.

Ian is always a popular solo performer at The Citadel and tickets are scarce for the gig which takes place on Saturday.

Demand is high and tickets are £18.50 in advance and £20.50 on the day.

Doors will be open from 7.30pm on the night.
