IT was another busy week for live music in the borough.
In fact, it seems to be getting busier every week.
While I was doing my rounds last weekend, myself and several long-standing members of the musical community remarked more than once that we couldn’t remember a busier time for live music, venues and bands since at least the mid-80s.
It’s great our local venues are dragging punters from in front of goggle box and cheap supermarket drink and into the various pubs and bars that have been promoting live music.
Let’s hope it stays this way and keep supporting live music!
Just a quick round up of last weekend before we delve into the gig guide for this week.
Sinnerboy were great value for money last Friday at the Zoo Bar. This latest line-up of the highly-rated Rory Gallagher tribute band brought a plethora of check-shirted punters out to the Zoo last Friday and it was another great show with guitarist and vocalist Barry Barnes on top form.
On the other side of the town centre, over at the Rendezvous bar, Ace/ Dc brought the music of revered rockers AC DC back to the town with all the usual classics played with the drive and power that you would expect – and also the tallest ‘Angus’ in existence!
