ACTRESS Crissy Rock makes a return to the Theatre Royal tonight (Thursday) as adult comedy Escorts: The Musical arrives in town.

And for the Benidorm star, who lived in St Helens for four years, performing at the venue will like a homecoming.

“I have always enjoyed playing at the Theatre Royal and I have lots of fond memories from there.

“I like the people who run the theatre and I’m really looking forward to playing there,” says the 55-year-old.

Crissy plays Liz Lovitt, owner of the Liverbirds Escort Agency in the adult-themed belly-tickler alongside lead Izzi Feld as Emmy and a cast including Brookside’s Suzanne Collins, Lynn Fitzgerald, Duggie Brown and Lesley Butler.

Containing lots of original songs, the play sees Emmy return to Liverpool to help uncover the secrets of her childhood. However, the return brings a lot more than she ever anticipated. And timing her visit with the busiest spell of the year, the week of the Grand National, leads to mayhem and madness running supreme.

Crissy is also busy working on another project, Dirty Dusting, expected to hit town later in the year, but can’t wait for show time to arrive.

She added “You always get a great reception and, although people in St Helens probably don’t think it, it’s quite a large theatre and the people of St Helens always support its theatre well.

“It’ll come together well on the night although it’s probably not one for the children!”

Escorts: The Musical is being shown for three performances on April 3, 4 and 5 at 7.30pm. Visit sthelenstheatreroyal.com or call 01744 756000.
